Can I really ski from the top of June Mountain the Chalet’s hydrotherapy tub?
If you go with one of the local guide services it’s a snap. In fact, June Mountain is becoming increasingly recognized for offering some of the best lift-assisted backcountry skiing in North America.
Are there taxes or additional charges?
Yes. We charge a $300 cleaning fee and a 12% Transient Occupancy Tax, which is mandated by Mono County.
Do you offer individual rooms or do guests book the entire chalet?
Out guests book the entire 4,000-square-foot chalet.
Does the chalet have a washer and dryer?
Yes. The chalet has a high-end washer and dryer in the garage.
Do we need to bring bed linens or towels for the bathrooms and jacuzzi?
The house is fully equipped with organic cotton sheets and towels for both the jacuzzi and shower.
Can I really hike out the back door to Yosemite National Park?
Yes, you can via either Mono Pass or Donohue Pass. That said, you must be in excellent physical condition and you will need to catch the YART/arrange for someone to pick you up in the park at the end of the day.
It appears the kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, utensils, coffee maker, etc. Do we need to bring anything with us besides food?
Yes, the kitchen is fully stocked, down to the coffee maker, coffee grinder, and garlic press. We also provide salt and olive oil.
Can we use an outdoor barbecue?
Because of the high fire danger in the Eastern Sierras we discourage the use of barbecues on the property. However, if you are a die-hard barbecue guy you may set up your own propane barbecue on the back deck.
Can I have my wedding/family reunion at the Chalet?
Absolutely not. We have an eight-person over night max and no more than ten people are allowed on the property at any time. Our maximum is mandated by Mono County, which means that there are no exceptions.
Do we bring our own firewood?
Yes. However, we will supply you with a small batch of firewood as a complimentary gift.
Why do you have a 3-car limit?
June Lake’s understated charm is important to us. Keeping no more than three guest cars in our driveway at all times promotes the harmony we seek to maintain and cultivate with our neighbors and the community at large. Should this rule be violated we will withhold your security deposit and require that you promptly move to other accommodation.
How much privacy does the loft in the Master Bedroom offer?
Like any typical loft setup, those sleeping in the loft will have a commanding view of the rest of the room.

Will we have access to the entire chalet?
Everything advertised is 100% accessible at all times.
What about flying into Mammoth Airport?
Flights to Mammoth (MMH) are getting better by the year, especially in the winter. Click here for the most recent information. It’s a 25 minute drive from the airport to the chalet. In general the airport is convenient. The hitch is that if you have a connection during a storm you may get stuck.
