Less than a mile away, June Mountain offers 2,580 vertical feet of ski terrain for all levels. World-class back country & cross country skiing are within easy reach. Experienced backcountry skiers can ski from the top of June Mountain  to the cabin’s hydrotherapy tub.

Mammoth Mountain

World-famous Mammoth Mountain, home to many an Olympian, is just 30 minutes away.  Mammoth Mountain has stayed open as late as July 4th in years past and arguably has the best snow in the state in any given year.

Backcountry Spring Skiing

Don’t forget that the Eastern Sierra offers some of the best backcountry spring skiing anywhere in North America.  Options abound within a 3 mile radius of the Yosemite Gateway Chalet.  And it’s only 27 miles to Tioga Pass, which attracts backcountry skiers from all over the country.
